Our take-off process is a very thorough, multi-staged process which involves a team of well-trained and experienced estimators. We apply the highest industry standards of estimating to every take-off we perform. Each take-off is thoroughly reviewed and approved by a Senior Estimator and the estimating team before it is sent to the client. During the course of the take-off, TakeOff16's estimators keep constant track of the project, making sure we receive all addenda and other project changes. We work directly with the architects and engineers, producing RFI's (Request for Information) and obtaining clarity on confusing design elements. We also produce 'Request for Quotation' documents for special material items and packages such as Lighting Fixtures. We deliver these documents via e-mail to the contractor. They can then send these documents directly to their vendors for quotation. In the future, this information will be linked directly to vendors who will provide direct quotation on these projects or can be put in direct contact with the contractor via our web site. The E-xtension Now, here's how TakeOff16 really shines! Most outside estimating firms provide the client with the final take-off analysis and extension data on paper only. This standard, printed out extension format usually requires pen and ink editing, a process that ultimately requires recalculation and re-extension by the client. This method of editing is very time consuming and is open to making costly mistakes. TakeOff16 has taken things to the next level by creating the E-xtension. The E-xtension is a unique, 100% electronic data file. This file can be downloaded from our web site, delivered via e-mail or shipped directly to the client on CD or floppy diskette. The E-xtension is a fully functioning Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that allows the client to manipulate and edit the extension data. The client can increase or decrease material quantities, change the material pricing and discount percentage as well as change the labor value associated to each material item. Upon each edit, the spreadsheet automatically re-extends and creates accurate, revised sub-totals and final totals. The E-xtension makes reviewing and editing the extension much faster, more efficient and more accurate. The E-xtension is not just raw materials and labor data. It is a complete bidding tool. The E-xtension includes a very detailed and organized Bid Summary spreadsheet that allows the contractor to organize and compile all of their bid costs and obtain a final bid price. The Bid Summary allows contractors to enter in labor costs, labor types and their percentages, quotation items, sub-contractor costs, equipment rentals, Direct Job Expense values and their Overhead & Profit values. It also includes a Cut/Add sheet and a summary of costs by Cost Code. With the inclusion of this Bid Summary spreadsheet, the E-xtension becomes a complete, single program bid tool that allows the contractor to easily produce a final bid price without the use of any other programs. One file, one program, one accurate and very important final number. The E-xtension also contains TakeOff16's project analysis or 'Take-off Notes'. This is information written and compiled by TakeOff16's estimators while they are performing the takeoff. These notes are created to guide the client through the project and assist the client with his preparation to bid the project. The E-xtension also can carry with it other electronic data files such as CAD drawing files, specification documents, digital images and other Internet links. |
